The Ford Bronco Sport has been recognized by J.D. Power’s APEAL Study as a vehicle that’s designed to meet drivers’ needs and wants. Built for adventure and offering undeniable reliability, it is really in a league of its own.
That being said, there are other vehicles on the market that you may be considering to satisfy your craving for adventure. One of those vehicles is the Jeep Wrangler. Also a fan favorite among drivers, it’s important to see how these two vehicles compare so you can make the most informed decision. After all, a new car is an investment!
Today, we’re going to take a look at both the Ford Bronco Sport and Jeep Wrangler to see how they compare.
Off-Roading Capabilities
Since both vehicles were designed for the adventurous spirit, let’s compare how well they do off-road.
The Bronco Sport offers G.O.A.T modes, which stands for Goes over Any Type of Terrain, making it beyond capable of hitting the trails and exploring unknown paths.
While traveling over any type of terrain, including mud, sand, and loose gravel, the Bronco Sport’s High-Performance, Off-Road, Stability, Suspension (HOSS) system will help you maintain stability, while the all-terrain tires and metal bash plates will tackle challenging terrain while protecting your underbody.
The Wrangler, also known for outdoor capability, has earned the Trail Rated badge, which means it’s been proven to be able to handle some of the most challenging terrains, as well. Also equipped with a 4x4 system, it will deliver split torque for legendary traction. It also has excellent ground clearance, so your underbody is protected while driving on rocky terrain.
Both vehicles offer water fording. The Bronco Sport allows you to drive through up to 23.6 inches of standing water, while the Wrangler offers up to 34 inches.
Advanced Technology
In terms of technology, both vehicles can be considered modern marvels. The Bronco Sport comes with an 8” touchscreen, SYNC 3 and Voice-Activated Navigation, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging station. It also has a B&O Sound System that comes with 10 speakers and a subwoofer for the ultimate music-listening experience.
The Wrangler also comes with a touchscreen and Trails Offroad, which lets you plan out your outdoor adventure more easily. It also comes with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and in-vehicle WiFi.

In addition to these advanced technological features mentioned above, each vehicle offers dynamic safety systems to give you peace of mind whether you’re hitting the trails or the grocery store parking lot.
Confidence is experienced with the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist system, which comes with Pre-Collision Assist with Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Rear View Camera, and a front-facing, 180-degree camera.
The Wrangler also has a Forward Collision Warning system, as well as Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring system, Automatic High-Beam Headlamps, and ParkView Rear Back Up Camera.

This engine delivers 181 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. Your second option, available on the Badlands model, is a 2.0L EcoBoost engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque.
